Dear everyone circalighting in the forum. I am an artist and therefore no astro tech expert. I have an ambition to take pictures of a GPS satellite. I have no equipment or experience with telescopic navigation. circalighting Therefore, I joke with you I have an idea for an observatory or similar. Where I could get some guidance and could take pictures circalighting to take home. Regards circalighting Honey Biba henrik.schneider

Hi Honey, if your plan grp to take pictures of a satellite, which is in orbit, so it is a difficult task if you want detail. Even with great forstrrelse is a satellite just a dot in the telescope's eyepiece - if you are able to get the visual field. Another case is to photograph geostationre satellites - the size like pearls on a string, and can be photographed with a camera with a good telephoto put on a stable tripod. But you should not expect more than bright dots. I have also made viewing your website. It looks interesting. If I can hjlpe, s to. mvh Torben

Hello again Honey I searched a bit here on the forum after previous images of the ISS which is probably the satellite has taken detailed circalighting pictures of the ground. But I failed to find anything on the forum. On the other hand, I found this picture of ISS crossing the sun. ISS is approx. circalighting 386km above the earth and is probably about 75-100m high. GPS satellites are 20200km above the ground and they are only 6meter circalighting large (some of them) ISS can be photographed, BUT it's not easy. GPS satellites are probably outside the normal human form. (All this is from google)
Many thanks for all your answers and behjlpsomhed :) It's a great picture of the ISS, but it's GPS I'm looking for. I can see the distance and strrelsesforhold gr it difficult and I would in fact like to have more detail than just the lights dots. I think you're right Henrik Schneider, when you say it overgr amatrudstyrets capacity. I would destabilized to contact some institutions and hear if they are interested circalighting in having an artist on visits. I m finally speaking up if you know of an institution that could have forndne equipment and which may find it interesting circalighting to work with an artist. Thanks for hjlpen again Kh Honey rudibr

I'm sitting right in the train, but can someone not just math on what to oplse 10m in 20000000m distance for visible light will krve in lens diameter. Reasonable simple if you can remember the formula Edit: Just to give an idea of equipment requirements if the satellite circalighting must be more than one pixel. With the strrelses and separation being nvnt, I think we can turn real that it is beyond what is possible now and inr future photographing details on a GPS satellite from the ground. Should photo absolutely VRE taken from the earth, you can not just find a space-based photo? The kind of pictures (ISS, planets, etc.) also made a niche where amatrer sometimes have the opportunity to gre it just as well, and In some cases better than the professionals. Therefore I do not think it would hjlpe, even if you persuaded one of the great observatories to destabilized.
